What's taking my time at the moment.
Updated 10 June 2026
I recently moved into a new role at Meta, working in the Risk organisation as a Risk Area Tech Lead for Transparency & Choice. New problem space, new team, plenty to learn. I'm also Co-Chair of QCon London.
June was a speaking month: the AI Native Engineering talk evolved across two outings, at AI Native DevCon in London and Craft in Budapest.
The most recent essay is Navigating Uncertainty - what helps (and what doesn't) when the organisation around you is changing and you can't do much about it.
Hockey, as ever: I play at Ben Rhydding and turn out for the Yorkshire and North East masters sides, with the 2026/27 season ahead and Grays Hockey sponsoring me through it. Between matches, the moors above the house are for running, riding and family walks, and there's the usual stack of side projects moving at the speed side projects move.
